Recorded audio files are saved to the device's internal memory (4GB).
Q. How many hours of audio will the flash drive voice recorder hold?
It can hold up to approximately 144 hours of recordings on the 4GB of internal memory. If you need more space, you simply have to delete/erase older recordings, or move them to your computer's hard drive.
Q. What is the battery life like?
The USB Flash Drive Voice Recorder can record for up to 15 hours on a full charge, and can sit in "standby mode" for up to 25 days.
Q. What exactly is "standby mode"?
Standby mode is also referred to as "voice activation mode" or VOR. This means the device is on and listening for sounds/noises, and will start recording when it detects audio.
Q. How do I listen to my recordings?
To listen to your recordings, simply plug the USB drive into your computer (PC, Mac, or Linux) and click on the files you wish to play.
Q. What audio format are the files recorded to?
Audio files are recorded to MP3 format, which can be played back on virtually any media software on the market.
Q. How do I start/stop the audio recording?
To start or stop recording, please refer to the instructional image above. Rotate the small wheel on the end of the device up to start recording, down to start voice-activated recording, and rotate the dial back to the middle to stop recording.
Q. How do I charge the USB voice recorder?
You can charge the voice recorder several ways. You can plug it into your computer's USB port, or you can use the optional car charger, or optional portable battery charger.
Q. How can I reset the device?
If for some reason the device becomes "stuck" or is not responding to commands, insert a paper clip into the reset hole to reset the device.
Q. Is there a way to check the battery life status?
Yes - when you start recording, the indicator light will indicate the battery level for 5 seconds. Solid light = 70-100% battery, blinking light = 30-70% battery, no light = 0-30% battery life remaining.
Q. Can this recorder record while it is plugged into power (such as in a USB port or USB wall charger?)
Yes it can. Simply start the recording, and then plug it in to your USB port or wall charger and it will continue recording without utilizing the battery power.
Q. Can I use this device as a regular USB flash drive too?
Yes you can - you can use the device just like any normal 4GB flash drive to take your important files with you.
