Q. How is this hidden camera wall clock powered?
The HC375w wall clock hidden camera has an internal rechargeable battery, which allows the camera to get up to 6 hours of continuous streaming on a single charge, perfect for short term use. For longer term use or around-the-clock video surveillance, we recommend using the included power cable and wall charger to plug it into AC power so there are no battery life concerns to worry about.
Q. How easy is it to set up this WiFi internet streaming camera?
We've designed this hidden camera to be simple to set up. The entire process takes about 5-10 minutes. Just download the free streaming app to your smartphone, connect the camera to AC power (or charge the battery), and connect the camera to your home's wireless network.
Q. How many cameras can I view through the app? Can I use multiple cameras and view them through the app?
If you have multiple rooms to monitor, or even multiple locations (such as your home and your office), you can add an unlimited number of cameras to the app, and conveniently view them all from the same app (as long as each camera is connected to a WiFi network wherever the camera is located at). You can then live view all the cameras from anywhere in the world.
Q. Can I record my video from this nanny cam too?
Yes you can. In addition to live streaming, the camera also allows you to record video to a micro SD card hidden inside the clock. The camera accepts up to a 128GB memory card, which can store several weeks worth of video. Choose between motion activated or continuous recording mode, depending on your specific needs.
Q. How do I view my recorded video?
There are two ways to view your recorded video. To view the videos on your PC or Mac computer, simply remove the micro SD memory card from the back of the clock camera and insert it into your computer's card reader slot. You can then double click on the files to play, or copy them to your desktop to save and keep them. Alternatively, you can also use the smartphone app to remotely view the recorded files, however due to the large file size this method can be slower as the videos must first download before playing remotely.
Q. Can I record video directly to my iPhone or Android via the app?
In addition to recording to a memory card in the camera, you can also record video to the app itself (as well as take screenshots of the live video). The caveat to this being that the app must be open and active in order for it to record, so if you close the app or minimize it, the recording will stop.
For this reason, most people who want to record video simply set the camera to record to a memory card.
Q. How do the motion detection alerts work?
The motion detection/activity alerts notify you instantly if the camera detects motion or movement within its field of view. This makes this hidden camera ideal for home or business surveillance and security. After you get the alert you can easily pull up the live video to see what is going on.
Q. Can I stream live video to my PC or Mac computer?
This hidden camera streams to iPhone or Android devices only, it does not stream to desktop or laptop computers (PC or Mac).
Q. Is my video stream password protected?
Yes it is, so no one will be able to view your video feed unless you share your login information with them (such as a spouse or business partner).
Q. Can multiple people view the camera stream at once?
Yes they can - up to 3 people can view the stream simultaneously on their smartphone (provided that you have shared your login information with them).
Q. Does the camera make any sound while streaming or recording?
No it does not - the spy camera operation is completely covert - no one will know that it is actually a hidden camera.
Q. How do I start or stop recording?
Recording is controlled via the streaming app. You'll be able to start or stop recording, adjust recording settings, as well as view live video all via the app.
Q. What type of internet connection do I need to stream video from this camera?
A 2.4GHz connection is needed (most routers now broadcast in both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz signals). Some locations such as public WiFi spots or business or corporate networks may have additional security restrictions, so if plan to use this on a public or corporate network be sure to check to ensure compatibility.
